2027년 밀·콩 등 전략품목 600만톤 확보…식량안보 강화

한국 정부는 국제 식량 위기 등 비상시를 대비하여 중요 농산물인 밀, 콩, 옥수수, 오일팜, 카사바 등을 해외에서 600만 톤 확보하는 계획을 세우고 있다. 이러한 계획은 국내 식량 안보를 강화하고, 글로벌 경기 불황이나 식량 가격 상승 등의 비상 상황에 대비하기 위한 것이다. 정부는 이를 위해 민간의 해외 농업 진출을 지원하고, 농식품산업 해외진출 지원사업을 추진해 5개 전략 품목을 다루는 기업들에게 우선적으로 지원할 계획이다. 이를 통해 국내 수요처 확보를 지원하고, 5개 품목의 해외 확보량을 2027년까지 600만 톤으로 늘리는 것이 목표이다. 이는 2021년 5개 품목의 확보량인 208만 톤의 약 3배에 해당하며, 비상시를 대비하는 안정적인 식량 확보를 위한 긍정적인 계획이다. 이를 통해 국민들은 더 이상 식량 부족이나 식량 가격 상승으로부터 고통스러움을 견뎌야 할 필요 없이, 국내 식량 안보를 확보할 수 있게 될 것이다.

한국기후기술허브(K-허브)와 아시아개발은행(ADB)은 서울에 거점을 두고 내년에 설립될 예정입니다.
